Opportunities are currently growing for international renewable energy suppliers to export their equipment and services to China, and form joint ventures with local manufacturers. In November 2005, China announced plans to double its reliance on renewable energy by 2020 and to provide 15% of its energy needs from non-fossil fuels within 15 years.Last year the People's Congress enacted the country's first renewable energy law, which promotes the use of alternatives to coal and oil.The country aims to produce 20 gigawatts of electricity from wind power by 2020. Several of the worlds leading solar PV and wind turbine manufacturers have begun to establish operations in China. Meanwhile, China is planning to double its investments in development of biofuel technologies in the next five years. The Great Wall World Renewable Energy Forum (GWREF) is a high level symposium, being organized in accordance with the United Nations’ community cooperation principles for global renewable energy development. The GWREF represents a catalytic approach with a unique Chinese perspective to the realization of renewable energy development goals for both China and the world. GWREF’S organizers seek to foster international communication, and facilitate the development of global renewable markets. The organizers of this event commit themselves to unrelenting efforts to make the GWREF a permanent and high-level platform to promote dialog between China and the international community on issues of global sustainable development. The conference will provide a forum to promote the exchange of ideas between the most influential leaders in the field of international renewable energy development and will promote general global cooperation for sustainable development. We earnestly invite additional organizations to join and support this significant effort. IFCE addresses solutions to environmental and energy problems throughout China by matching the business expertise of international firms with project developers in China for lasting partnerships. Business partnerships can help solve energy problems and also help local participants adopt best practices and appropriate technologies. With a focus on trade, finance and policy, ACORE promotes all renewable energy options for the production of electricity, hydrogen, fuels and end-use energy through work in convening, information publishing and communications.
A. The GWREF Conference is an officially sanctioned event of the National and Provincial governments of China. They will be requesting attendance of all stakeholders in the renewable energy field representing both public and private sectors, as well as technical, managerial, planning, and procurement personnel. This includes:
In addition, invitations have been sent to 100,000 potential participants from other Pacific Rim countries and around the world. Q. Do Trade Shows work in China? A.
