| IFCE had a board meeting in DC in Jan. 19. We reviewed operation of 2005 and discussedprojects/activities in 2006.Following projects/activities are proposed for 2006.
1. College student enviro. forum in summer (Ping He, Ban Li and Zhen Jian)
2. Renewable energy mission to China in April (Ping He, Nora Maccoby and offices in Beijing, Wuhan and Shenzhen)
3. Green Wuhan Forum on public participation (Wuhan Office, Wuhan Gov, possibly UNEP and the World bank)
4. Clean energy mission to Shanghai and other cities (Roger Ballentine, Peter fox-Penner, etc.)
5. Waste water tech training at University of Missouri (Beijing office)
6. Chinese tech delegations visiting US (Beijing office and DC office)
7. Arrange Dr. Michael Maccoby to lecture in China (Song Li and Nora Maccoby)
8. Setup of international advisory committee on water env. and health and meetings (Samuel Sage)
9. Publications and Workshops in DC and Beijing to celebrate IFCE's 10th anniversary (Zhao Xiaoming, Ping He, Xiaohui He, Richard Ferris, etc.)
10. Policy recommendation (topic to be determined)
Three new board directors were invited to the board:
Barbara Bramble, Senior Program Advisor, International Affairs, National Wildlife Federation. Barbara is a well-known env. leader in US.
Roger Ballentine, president of Green Strategies. Roger is a top energy expert in US.
Yuzhen Zheng, general manager of Shengzhen Fenghe Env. Engineering Inc. Ms. Zheng is a successful business leader in China and will also serve as the director of IFCE Shengzhen office.
Dr. Rei Liu, Dr. Xiaojun Li and Mr. Wangying Jin won't serve on the board for the next term. We want to take this opportunityto thank for their dedicated services and contribution to IFCE's development. Drs. Liu and Li are founders of IFCE. Both served as board chairs. Dr. Liu will still serve as sr. VP and Dr. Li will be appointed as VP as well, in charge of biodiversity conservation projects/activities.
