☆Suggestion Letter to Mr. Hu, Jintao on Nu River Development- Oct. 28, 2004

Dr. Ping He, on behalf of IFCE, sent a letter to Mr. Hu, Jintao, the secretary general of Chinese Communist Party, to express concerns on Nu River hydropower development plan. Letter- More>>>.

☆Provided a report to Chinese People's Political Consultative Committee (CPPCC) on Recommendation of Four on One System for Vegetation Restoration and Improving Farmers' Living in Western China and Implementation of Land Laws in China in 2003.

As requested by CPPCC, this report was submitted to the standing committee meeting of the CPPCC and forwarded to the concerned central governmental agencies in China.

☆ Compiled a report on "Suggestions on the Western China's Development" and submitted to State Environmental Protection Administration and Shaanxi Provincial Government in 2000.

IFCE organized a group of professionals and scientists visited Shaanxi province to discuss issues pertaining to conservation in western China. After visiting, the group provided a report to recommend a number measures ought to take to preserve biodiversity and to better manage resources in the ecologically fragile region.

☆Compiled a report on 'Suggestions on Chinese Environmental Problems" and submitted to Chinese government in 1999. The report was reviewed by most of top Chinese leaders and some recommendations were adopted in the national ten-five plan. The report covered industrial pollution control, food production and pest control, energy policy, water resources management. NGO development, and US-China environmental cooperation.
